The challenging public 9-hole Summertree golf course features 2,597 yards of golf from the longest tees. Greens fees are separate from Summertree communities’ maintenance fees.

Women’s Club at Summertree
“Our purpose is to foster, encourage and perpetuate the spirit of camaraderie of all members through social, recreational and community project participation.”

The Women’s Club is open to all women who live in Summertree and it’s a great way to get involved and meet new friends. Meetings are held the 3rd Friday of the month in the Garden Room. Lunches at various local restaurants are held on the 4th Thursday of the month.

*FRIENDSHIP CLUB – ”A MEN’S CLUB”

The Friendship Club is a men’s club devoted to helping others by holding various functions thru-out the year. We have dinner/dances on five holidays. We also have other events to provide entertainment for the community. Our meetings are held on the second Friday every month excluding June, July and August in the SRF auditorium.

Summertree Recreation Facility Sponsored Events –

Monthly SRF Dances are open to anyone. Actual dates can be seen on the calendar posted on this website. All other SRF events are pre-sale events. Ticket sales are noted on the calendar and the front page of the newsletter. Residents can purchase tickets on sale dates in the room noted.

Dance tickets are available at the door of the auditorium at 6:30 PM on the date of the dance.

Weekly Activities:

BRIDGE:  Join us for Intermediate Bridge in the Card Room on Thursday’s from 9:00 am to 11:30 am.

EUCHRE  –  Euchre Monday evenings, 7:00 pm in the auditorium.  Call  Janet Dunn for information.

WATER AEROBICS – Time: 10 am to 11 am Tuesday through Saturday each week. The class should be kept to about 10-12 people. These classes will be using the shallow end of the pool while the deep end will be available for other swimmers.

MORNING STRETCH EXERCISE GROUP  –  Come join us in exercising. Monday through Friday from 8:15 to 8:45 in the Auditorium Exercises are not rigorous and are helpful in loosening stiff joints. Questions, please contact Doug Grossa dgrossa@gmail.com

PICKLEBALL  –  Looking for a new activity? Try Pickleball, Monday, Wednesday & Friday, 8 – 10 am.  Stop by the courts to observe and see if this sport is for you.  We welcome you to give It a try. 

YOGA  –  Classes begin at 9:30 am on Monday, Thursday and Saturday in the Garden Room at the back of the Auditorium, and generally run about 60 minutes. Attendees need to bring their own mat. We use a variety of DVD’s which are geared for seniors, but these are NOT “chair yoga” classes. 

CARDIO WALKING CLASS – In the Garden Room at 8:30 am, Monday thru Friday. Walking DVD’s used for approximately 45 minutes (equal to about 3 miles). We sometimes do “Body Groove” which is unchoreographed dancing. No commitment! Come as often as works for you. Come late, leave early. But be sure to wear good foot support and bring a water bottle.

LIBRARY NEWS   We depend on the generosity of our residents for new items in our library. We welcome your continuing donations of fiction and non-fiction books, audio books (CD’s), and movies (DVD’s), however, please check the copyright dates and do not  leave items that are more than 10 years old. Also, no cookbooks, medical/weight loss books, or magazines. All returned or donated items should be placed in the appropriate return bins.

MAH-JONGG OPEN GROUP  Tuesdays from 12:30 to 4PM. Come out and play or learn. Open to everyone! If you have questions call Susan (Granny-Sue) Kaczmarek (352) 584-0086.

SUMMERTREE POOLSIDE POTLUCK  1ST THURSDAY  1st Thursday of each month at 5pm. Bring a dish to share (salad, main, or dessert) plus your own drinks, utensils, paper plates and napkins (no glass poolside). Deliver dishes to share no later than 4:30 pm.

CORN HOLE  –  Thursday nights at 6:00 pm at the Shuffleboard Courts.

PING PONG  –  Wednesdays, 3:00pm to 4:00pm in the Game Room.  Dec. to April.

PINOCHLE  –  Is played in the Auditorium on Thursday evenings at 6 PM– 9:30 PM. Starting in November. Call Pat Andrews 727-378-4475

TENNIS GROUP  –  Meets every Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday at 8:30 am.  If interested, please reach out to Ray Rector at 727-364-4026.

COMPUTER CORNER –  Meets on the last Wednesday of each month at 7:00 pm in the Auditorium. Contact David Viges with any questions.

TARPON COAST FLY FISHERS SALT WATER FLY-TYING GROUP  –  Meet on the 1st Tuesday through Oct. in the Craft Room from 6PM-9PM. Anyone wanting to learn advanced salt water fly-tying techniques for nature Coast flyfishing is welcome. Limited tying material and vices are available. Monday Line DancingThe Monday line dancing: 1:15PM in the auditorium. Beginners are welcome at the first hour to learn the various dance steps. Dance styles include country, waltz, swing, tango etc. More advanced dances are taught from 2:15 to 3:00. Join us for exercise, to improve balance, coordination and memory. Bingo– Monthly: Every first Tuesday from 1 PM– 3 PM in the auditorium. $10 for 10 games. You will receive 30 cards, 3 cards per game.

G.I.D.Y. GROUP – Women’s Non-denominational Bible Fellowship (beginning Feb 9th) every Friday from 10:30 till 12:30 in the Garden Room.   Light snacks provided. Will be looking at all kinds of women in the Bible who God gave purpose to.
